15 Feng Shui Secrets To Attract Love & Prosperity Into Your Home

Feng Shui is the ancient art of divination that uses the laws of both Heaven and Earth to help improve one’s life, by receiving positive energy. It’s all about creating harmonious surroundings that enhance the balance of yin and yang (good and bad).

It is fitting to share with you some tips as we start the new year. So here are the feng shui tips from around the web, along with a few of my thoughts that can help bring in more love and more prosperity in your home this year.  Keep in mind that these feng shui tips can only get you so far. What’s important is that you make the effort to work hard on your goals. Don’t ever expect feng shui to do all the work for you.

1. KEEP YOUR HOME CLUTTER FREE ( To Attract Money )

A cluttered space can neither attract, nor keep, the energy of wealth. Stuck, stagnant energy in a specific area of your house will sooner or later express itself in stagnation in an area of your life. Get rid of your clutter, clear out your closets, your basement, and your garage; once these areas are clean, do not let them accumulate more clutter. Good, fresh feng shui energy expresses itself in a clean space, fresh air, and plenty of good light. Clutter jams up good energy and leads to procrastination.

2. MAKE YOUR FRONT DOOR INVITING (To Attract Money)

If it’s hard to find your front door or it’s confusing as to how to get in, it’ll be hard for an opportunity to make its way into your life as well. Put in an archway or gate to denote the front door if you need to, and make sure the doorbell works. The welcome mat should be bright and fresh. Sweep the steps and sidewalk in front, and add a potted plant to the entryway.

3. PLACE YOUR BED PROPERLY (To Attract Love)

Avoid placing your bed in a corner because you or your partner may feel trapped. In other words, this means that both sides of the bed should be easily accessible where you or your partner doesn’t have to climb over another body to get on and off the bed. Place your bed properly to prevent one person from getting the less desirable position. This way, getting out of bed will be less disruptive and conflicts regarding sleep can be completely avoided.

4. ADD PLANTS AND WATER (To Attract Money)

To bring in more prosperity, it’s important to create a vibrant, healthy, inspiring and clutter-free home.  Bring in vibrant life forces such as plants and flowers, and don’t forget to have fresh air circulating. Fountains are important wealth adjustments in feng shui because they stimulate prosperity and energy, and symbolize money.

5. MAKE IT DOUBLES (To Attract Love)

If you want to start a relationship, don’t surround yourself with single imagery. Avoid a single chair in the corner, solitary images in artwork and solo photographs. It’s important to create the energy of partnership around you, otherwise, you are continually enforcing singularity. Add a second chair to a sitting area, double up on nightstands and surround yourself with pairs of everything.

6. FURNITURE LEGS ON RUGS (To Attract Love)

Never put all your furniture against the walls. Furniture should be arranged to support communication, so forget where the walls are. Put at least the front legs of all furniture on the rug — not just around it — and people will sit there and talk.

7. LOCATE YOUR MONEY AREA (To Attract Money)

Locate your feng shui money area and take very good care of it. Typically, this is your home office where you manage finances and other work. You will want to include elements like wood, which represent money and wealth. The colour blue and pictures of rivers, lakes, and oceans represent water, which nourishes the wood. You can also use mirrors, plants, and small icons that symbolize prosperity.

8. REMEMBER THE YIN OF THE BEDROOM (To Attract Love)

Yin energy helps people relax. That’s why the bedroom should use dimmer lights, soft music, or colours that induce relaxation. As mentioned earlier, stress decreases bedroom romance. A bedroom with more Yin energies can help you and your partner relax, which will naturally open the doors for the both of you to connect intimately.

9. AVOID WATER SYMBOLS (To Attract Money)

Drippy faucets are a sign of money going to waste. Whatever the state of your water, your finances mirror those. To increase your bank account, repair broken or leaking faucets and remove all stagnant water from your property. Ever heard the expression, ‘I just can’t get my head above water’? It’s best not to display water-based artwork or mirrors higher than your nose, which carries the same significance in feng shui. For most of us, that means no mirrors or water scenes above the bed.

10. CREATE A COZY BEDROOM (To Attract Love)

Oversized master bedrooms need to be cozier in order to have good relationship feng shui. Start by closing off any adjoining rooms, including a bathroom, office, patio or gym. If there’s no door, install curtains. If you have a sitting area, arrange the chairs toward each other, and downsize with a smaller bed — go from king to queen or queen to double. When the space gets bigger and bigger, people tend to live further and further apart emotionally.

11. BRING IN NEW OPPORTUNITIES (To Attract Money)

Sometimes it doesn’t take money to make money — just a yard sale. Take out clutter to increase prosperity; what you don’t use, don’t love, don’t need. Space equals opportunity.

12. NURTURE THE FIRE ELEMENT (To Attract Love)

Fire is an element in feng shui that helps instigate the spark in a new relationship or keep the love burning. You can bring this element into your home in a few different ways. Quite literally, a fireplace or a burning candle can be used to attract love. You can also incorporate the colour red into a space with accent pieces like a throw blanket, a rug, a painting, or a red wall. The only thing to remember is that there should be a balance. Too much red can lead to aggression and anger. Start gradually and sit with it before adding more.

13. CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE COLOURS (To Attract Money)

Make sure your home speaks to you, or the feng shui updates won’t work. The biggest feng shui money mistakes people make are choosing adjustments they don’t like. For example, red is considered a lucky colour and you might hear that painting your door red will attract wealth. To decrease stress and arguing in your home, check your surroundings. One couple that fought constantly had crisscross swords over their bed, and another couple had guns on their living room wall. Keep photos and artwork pleasing, inspiring and uplifting.

15. FOCUS ON ONE ANOTHER (To Attract Love)

When it comes to the master bedroom, it’s not about the view or TV. The bedroom is about passion and rejuvenation. To increase intimacy in your home, install heavy, cozy drapes over large windows, remove the TV and never sleep with a laptop, iPhone or other electronics buzzing near your bed. The bedroom should be low-tech and romantic. Avoid pictures and decor featuring anyone other than the people sleeping there — wedding pictures work, but family photos don’t.

A good feng shui house is one that is nourished by fresh, clear, and free-flowing energy. There is no stagnant, old, or blocked energy anywhere in the house. Everything around us is in constant flow, in constant change. So, even after you’ve created a strong feng shui foundation, the work continues. Get into the habit of keeping the energy fresh and flowing, and be very mindful of not creating areas where energy is stuck.
